KNIFE SHEATHS
One of the most sought after items by collectors are knife sheaths.
Second only to Pipe bags, these highly
decorated sheaths were worn by virtually all Indian men and women. Many of
these sheaths carried a
knife used for skinning buffalo or other game, others carried a knife used
in warfare. All the knife
sheaths below are rawhide or latigo leather covered with brain-tanned
buckskin.
